Folks, this is going to be an uphill battle. As a political newcomer, I haven't spent years grooming out-of-district donors and special interest PACs. My Republican opponents have moved into the race with sizable war chests, and more will come as the race heats up. Outgoing incumbent Buck McKeon set the example of losing touch with the people you represent, while racking up big donations from special interests - is that REALLY serving the people?
How do you fight back, and help restore a sense of duty and responsibility to Congress? One way is to donate to our cause - and no amount is too small! Any contribution will be greatly appreciated, and will go a long way towards building a grass-roots base. We met our first goal of $10,000 required to cover filing fees and ballot statements, thanks to your help!
Volunteers, word of mouth and social media pushes are all essential to this effort, but so are the mundane tools of every election - signs, ads, mailers and ballot statements. And those tools require cash. If you believe that Congress should work for you, and your community, then please help as best you can. Many Thanks!
